The 74th Republic Day celebrations in India have a new flavour to it this year – “Make in India”. The Indian Army will showcase only “Made in India” weapons systems, and the Naval Tableau will have the honour of displaying three models of autonomous unmanned systems, including the Brainbox Smart Ship Operations (SSO) model, developed indigenously under the iDEX-Sprint Challenge.
The iDEX-Sprint Challenge was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Naval Innovation and Indignation Organisation Seminar last July with the aim of promoting innovation and indigenous development in the defence sector. The initiative has led to the development of products that are being produced under the innovation for defence excellence scheme of the Ministry of Defence and Technology Development Acceleration Cell of Indian Navy.
Crown, in partnership with Tardid, is proud to present its all-electric unmanned vessel at the Navy Tableau as part of the Republic Day celebrations. The vessel is a testimony to the innovative and creative thinking of the Indian defence industry. The vessel has been designed and developed with the aim of providing the Indian Navy with a cutting-edge solution to its operational requirements.
The Brainbox Smart Ship Operations is a critical component of the unmanned vessel. It is an Artificial Intelligence Platform, which is currently being used for different applications in the Indian Navy and commercial Heavy Industries. Tardid had the opportunity to showcase their Brainbox products to the Prime Minister & Honorable Raksha Mantri during the Swavlamban Seminar conducted in New Delhi July 2022.
